Can You Stand The Rain?

Fights with friends, things going crazy in your personal life, disagreements with parents, making tough choices, or dealing with lack are just a few examples of dealing with the storms of life. But, can you stand the rain?

Being angry about your situation doesn’t stop the rain. Pouting about your problems does not help you overcome your issues either. Remaining depressed and stressed will not improve the situation.

The rain may intensify. The rain of problems may cause floods of pressure and pain, but praise God through it all. How can you make it through the storms of life? Find and meditate on encouraging Scriptures in the Word, listen to the Word from your pastor, and then rejoice in knowing that the victory is yours. The rain may continue but praising the Lord and focusing on His Word will help you to endure what you go through. Rain stroms don’t last forever, better is coming.

Can you stand the rain? With Jesus, yes you can.

Scriptures to meditate on:

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Nehemiah 8:10 …for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Let’s Just Move On

Sometimes you just have to move on.  Especially when things don’t go your way.  It hurts. You are disappointed.  You feel bitter and angry. You may even have some regrets, but life must go on.

Lazarus died, but Jesus keep doing ministry, the Lord moved on.  Peter and all the disciples abandoned Jesus, but the Lord moved on to Calvary.  Job’s wife turned her back on the man of God, but Job moved on.

The Falcons blew the Super Bowl…….let’s just move on.

Prayer Scriptures to meditate on:
Psalms 119:107 I am afflicted very much; Revive me, O Lord, according to Your word.

Mistakes Matter

Part of being young is making mistakes. Saying and doing the wrong thing is a part of life. Just remember to never give up. Be encouraged. Even though we let ourselves, parents, and others down God’s grace is available for you.

When you make mistakes as a child of God, repent and learn from it. You want to position yourself to be able to overcome the same issue later in life. You should also want to be a strength to someone else that may become entangled with the same issue. Mistakes matter most when you learn from them and you don’t allow them to bring you down.

Be a trendsetter.

Prayer Scriptures to meditate on:

Acts 18:27…he greatly helped those who had believed through grace;

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Be Different, Be Better

Daniel 1:20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.

One trait every young man and woman of God should possess is the desire to be the best. Being average, normal, or like the crowd is a standard the people of God should not accept. In Daniel 1:20, we see an excellent example of young people being above average examples. In fact, these four young men were ten times better than their peers. Whether in academics, athletics, personal behavior, or on the job strive to be the best. Doing so brings glory to God.

Let God’s Word be the measuring stick of excellence in life. Teens and young adults that truly desire to be trendsetters are not comfortable being like the world, they are different. Strive to be better than what is considered normal. With Christ, be a trendsetter.

Prayer Scriptures to meditate on:

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Forget The Past, Press Forward

The arrival of a new year brings a fresh start to life.  As you begin this new year reflect on the victories God helped you possess in the previous months.  Be thankful and mostly be wiser because of your past experiences.  Furthermore, learn from last year’s mistakes.  Don’t be a fool in this new year and repeat the foolishness that caused you to stumble last year.

As we embark on this year’s path, be the young man or woman that keeps God first in your life, refuse to associate with people that are harmful to your growth and success, and be a blessing to others.

May God’s grace and blessings be with you throughout in 2017.

Philippians 3:12-13 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
