Jerome has served in youth and young adult ministry 19 years under the leadership of his pastor, Bishop Barry Walker in Carrollton, GA. Jerome is the author of two books: Success Killers and Watch Who You Hang With.
The death of a loved one often comes with pain, it is part of the process. Yet when the loved one is a bonafide Christian, we can rejoice and take comfort in knowing that their death was blessed. A Christian that dies in the Lord is not lost. We know exactly where they are, resting from their labor in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. To my friend and brother in Christ Demetrius, we will miss you…..but the saints will see you again.
“Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”” Revelation 14:13 NKJV
Sooner or later God allows young men and women to experience the night. A season of toughness, trials, and testing. During these times we must continue to meditate on His Word. A mind that stays on the Lord can experience a peaceful good night in the mist of turmoil. Or, one can think on their troubles and have a nightmare. Which do you prefer? Meditate on His Word and have a good night.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. Psalms 1:2 NKJV
Sometimes our family situations, problems, money, relationships, and self-esteem seem impossible to change. But God asked a question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Of course not. Young people must always remember that God’s timing is not our timing. Keep believing, keep sowing, keep laboring, and remain faithful. It’s just a matter of time before the Lord births what He promised your life.
Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Genesis 18:14 NKJV
When God made the heaven and earth with His Word He looked at it and said it is very good (Genesis 1:31). Young men and women that need God’s help in life can always look to Him to make a way and the results will always be very good. He can make you, your situation, and your life better. Look to the hills today, God has some very good help for you.
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2 NKJV
In order to have a blessed day despite problems young men and women must learn to speak truth. The truth is God’s word (John 17:17). A child of God must avoid speaking wickedness such as cursing, lying, ungodly songs, negativity and such. These things should not be on the lips of a born again believer. Be the type of young person that is persistent in making your mouth speak truth. Because the truth is also life (John 14:6) when youth speak truth they produce life as well.
“For my mouth will speak truth; Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.” Proverbs 8:7 NKJV
